Living Arrows Week 46_52 (2017)

This year I am joining in with What the Redhead Said‘s project Living Arrows which is all about celebrating childhood.

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”-Kahlil Gibran

Every Monday I will be posting a picture of Logan showing what we have been up to or something new he has learnt.

Wow 3 weeks i’ve not posted a Living arrows post! oops, but i do have good reason, i took a break from blogging as Blogtober litterally took all my energy. But i’m back and this week Logan has had a fair few ups and downs.

We have hit the 18 month sleep regression and it’s not fun! He goes to bed at 7pm, wakes up without fail at 3.20am and point blank refuses to go back to sleep, he throws his dummy out of the cot as he knows i’ll have to go in at some point and give it him back.

I try to do the gentle cry it out where i leave him to cry for a few minutes before going back in, but at that time it’s far to tempting to just give in and take him into our bed but no one gets any quality sleep, especially as Logan thinks its playtime and kicks us in the back or slaps us to try wake us up. But last night i stuck it out and after going in like 4 or 5 times he eventually fell back asleep until 7am.

Also this week along with his sleep/nap regression he has been really fussy when it comes to meal times, and will only eat a few things before retaliating and throwing it all on the floor! I don’t know what to do with his eating at the moment.

On a more positive note Logan has decided he wants to eat apples like mummy and not have them cut up, which is super adorable to watch as the apples he likes are huge!

  1. Sounds like mine is going through this stage five weeks early as we are in the exact same place! The only thing that is pacifying him at 4am in the morning is a bottle of milk, so I just figured he was hungry, I didn’t realise there was a sleep regression at 18 months!!! Arrrrghhh what a nightmare. Feel for you hun, as you need your energy for growing another tiny human! We’re having the food thing as well, I thought that he was just trying his luck to eat jaffa cakes for every meal! x
