Just a socially awkward mum nerd!
Those of you who have been with me for a while or who are following me on my social media networks, then you will know that I am a socially awkward mum nerd/geek!
I suppose that I’ve always been into video games, what sparked my interest was definitely Crash bandicoot, closely followed by Simpsons hit and run. (On a side note, who else is looking forward to the remake of Crash Bandicoot on PS4? ME!)
Whilst I’m on the topic of video games, I thought what better way to start this post off by sharing a list of my all-time favourite video games (all platforms- in no particular order).
- The Sims 1, 2, 3, 4
- Animal crossing new leaf
- Crash Bandicoot (1996-2001)
- Simpsons hit and run
- Borderlands 2
- Fallout New Vegas
- Fable 3
- Far cry 3
- Call of duty Black ops (1,2 and 3)
- Pokémon (All versions)
- Rollercoaster tycoon
- World of Warcraft/Hearthstone
(I could keep going but I’d probably be here all day!)
What does Nerd / Geek even mean?
To be honest, I’ve never really googled the definitions (until now, and from what I’ve read the descriptions of both are partially relatable and true to me) but I’ve always been branded these terms by people who know me personally, does it bother me? Nope, in fact, I’m proud of the status because it’s what makes me who I am today, I’m happy and that’s what matters. (Ok there are some things I would like to change about myself – but that’s a whole new blog post).
Why are you so socially awkward?
I wish I knew but I have a funny feeling that it has something to do with how I was bullied at primary school (if you want a bullying story too, let me know in the comments).
I suppose I’ve always been quite shy naturally too which doesn’t help as sometimes I jumble my words and speaking out in public (MY WORST NIGHTMARE). I’ve never been good at keeping a conversation going, so when I look for friends I tend to go with the ones that start the conversations, but being a mum it has helped me a tonne! Because there is so much common ground and you can chat endlessly about poop, piss and sleep (don’t we all need more of it?)
So in a way having Logan has made me a more sociable, more confident person because I can sort of hiding my insecurities away and make Logan the focus as he’s just so goddamn adorable!I hope you enjoyed reading this, i know not all of my mummy friends will appreciate this but for those who requested it on twitter, here you go. Leave me a comment what you would like me to blog about next! 🙂
