Why Adult colouring books help me relax #Blogtober2017

This year I thought it would be super exciting to take part in #Blogtober2017 if you don’t know what that is, then hop along to Hexmum’s blog (Mandi) and you can take a looksie. I have also decided that I’m going to go all Stealth mode with these posts, as i don’t want to spam my homepage with blogtober, but don’t worry I’m still taking part! – You can also click on my blogtober image in the sidebar.

Day 18 of Blogtober is about Relaxation and for this I thought i’d share with you my love for adult colouring books, and tell you how and why they help me to relax when i’m feeling stressed, or just for something to do on a boring thursday evening.

How Adult Colouring books help me relax

I mostly use adult colouring books when I am feeling like there is a  lot stress and anxiety going on. Not only does it allow me to express my creativity, I find myself getting lost in the patterns and i’m no longer worrying about whatever it was that was bothering me but more focussed on what colours i am going to use next.

I also love to sit down and colour when i’m bored, as it is a great thing to focus on to pass time. I also mentioned adult colouring books in my 10 things that make me happy blog post.

My favourite Adult colouring books

Oo there a lot of adult colouring books which i love, and some i dont even own yet, but i find myself drawn toward the books with pictures of animals or fun cartoon style prints like the pokemon one below. I don’t have a particular adult colouring book artist but from the books i have so far, Millie Marotta, Kerby rosanes and Johanna Basford.

My most recent purchase – Pokemon creative colouring book

I bought this one a couple of weeks ago, mainly because i loved the repetitive patterns, and I love Pokemon.

Animorphia by Kerby Rosanes

This is another of my favourite pieces which i have completed, it’s only the intro page but i just love the outcome.

Animal kingdom by Millie Marotta

More simpler than the kerby rosanes designs but i loved the process of choosing colours. The options are endless and its so fun once you stop thinking too hard and, going out the lines is totally acceptable as long as you’re having fun. It’s definitely a relaxing thing for me.

Until tomorrow’s blog post (Prompt is Secrets) – cya x
