I’ve wrote previously about how I came to meet the love of my life, but briefly, before I met Ben I was in a very sad and lonely place, yeah I had my 2 boys who are my world, but there was always that empty void, that feeling of something missing… someone missing from my life. And luckily I stumbled upon my soul mate Ben who showed me that true gentlemen do exist and more than that .. we actually are so more alike that I ever thought possible. So here’s my 7 reasons, I believe having a gamer boyfriend is the best!!
- Can help with tough parts in video games
This point only really counts if you’re a gamer too, as It turns out I am so naturally whenever I get stuck on a level or don’t know where a certain thing is to achieve a trophy, I know I can always rely on my boyfriend to help me out.
Another slight perk to having a gamer boyfriend is the fact you can borrow his PlayStation games if he isn’t playing them that is, and they’re not digital, which I fear is going to be the future of gaming, everything disc-less and saved to the cloud.
- Great bonding experience
In my opinion, gaming together creates a sort of bond because we can talk about topics that you couldn’t otherwise talk about with your non-gamer boyfriend. Nothing beats curling up on the sofa, with munchies not to watch films but to play video games whether I’m watching him or he’s watching me, the communication, sometimes rage and occasional distractions 😉
- More laughs and giggles
I can’t speak for everyone but from my point of view, gamers make the funniest boyfriends especially when you hear them raging at a particularly tricky level in Spyro Reignited Trilogy (aka Treetops). They swear and say all sorts of hilarious phrases when they are so immersed in a game, another perfect example when you get the serious giggle fits is on Call Of Duty, hearing them swear and call other online players names is just so funny, and when they fail and keep failing, you just have to laugh at their misfortune, sorry babe!
My brother has also come to enjoy our party chats on COD, and asks all the time “when are we next going to be playing”.
- Christmas/ birthdays? Sorted!
Something I thought I’d throw in the mix is the fact that gamer boyfriends are the easiest to buy gifts for since you can not really go wrong with Psn/Xbox vouchers, their favorite video game or even a collectible or some merchandise from something they love to play/watch.
- We motivate each other
What I mean by this one, as I’m sure Ben would agree is that feeling of inspiration and motivation you get when you see on the PS4 “what’s new” page that they’ve gained another.. well several more trophies than you have on a game that you’ve just started to get into… he also motivates me to try games that I wouldn’t have tried before from my gaming collection. The most recent example of this has to be Spyro because if Ben hadn’t have bought it or started playing it I wouldn’t have wanted to try it.
- You’ll always have a Co-op partner
Quite a natural and obvious perk is you will always have someone to play with if you want to play co-op online games, the most popular one being Call of duty. there are also some offline split screen games that you can play together but there really isn’t a lot of choices these days, but my favorite offline multiplayer has to be the Borderlands series.
- Just because
I suppose you could say that “I have the Platinum of all boyfriends”, If that’s not special then I don’t know what is. But then only Ps4 fans would appreciate that comment 😉 So next time you see your boyfriend hooked on a video game, don’t get mad, just steal his remote and jump on him, Just kidding – why not try and join in and see if you can kick his butt on Pure pool or Crash Team Racing (When it comes out which I cannot wait for!)
